Offender Reentry/Transition
:: HOME > What We Are Doing > Hundreds of thousands of offenders are released each year from jails and prisons. Their successful transition to the community - without reoffending - is critical to community safety. A wide range of efforts are underway to prepare and support offenders for a successful return to their communities. In some jurisdictions efforts are system-wide, led by corrections agencies, but involving other public agencies and community stake holders in system-change efforts. Other efforts are more limited in scope and may focus on specific offender groups or geographic locations.
