More Information
Watson , BeLinda P.
The Prisons Division facilitates specialized training, conducts operational networks and coordinates technical assistance as well as and other programs related to prison operations and management.
The Division also sponsors the development of publications and materials on topics of interest to prisons practitioners, and it coordinates an interdisciplinary effort to assist jurisdictions in developing a more rational, cost-effective, and coordinated system of correctional operations.
Technical assistance related to prisons is available in areas such as security, emergency preparedness, staffing, and special management inmates. The Division also coordinates specialized training and other programs with the following emphasis: Leadership and Management; Prison Management and Operations; Institutional Culture; and Classification.
Oversight for both Women Offender and Correctional Health Care initiative are also under the purview of the Prisons Division although these initiatives provide services across the correctional field to include both jails and community corrections.
