TEAMS - the Total Efficiency Accountability Management System - has been a dramatic success for the New York City Correction Department. There has been an 85% decrease in inmate stabbings/slashings, a 45% cut in employee overtime and 25% reduction in sick leave. These impressive figures were achieved even with a 25% increase in inmate population. Through TEAMS, primary jail operations are monitored with a monthly reporting system and all units are accountable for performance of the agency's mission.
