The relationship between treatment for problem drug use (i.e., opiate and crack) and recidivism is investigated. Sections of this report include: summary; background; approach; findings -- mean for number of charges before and after treatment and treatment duration; and conclusions. Reduction of offending following prescribed treatment is 50%.
