Recidivism, as measured by any new conviction for an offense committed within two years of release from prison, for three cohorts is investigated. Sections contained in this report are: executive summary; the measurement of recidivism; making choices for the assessment of recidivism; method and data integrity; results; and summary. The majority of reconvictions were nonviolent, with cohorts averaging reconviction rates of 42.5%.
