Re-Enfranchisement! A Guide for Individual Restoration of Voting Rights in States That Permanently Disenfranchise Former Felons

The issue of former felon disenfranchisement is examined. In particular this report "focus[es] on the individualized, case-by-case process for regaining the vote that exists in the 13 states that do not provide automatic restoration of the right to vote for former felons and thus permanently disenfranchise huge numbers of citizens who would be eligible to vote if they resided in another state" (p. 12). The following three parts comprise this report: highlighting hurdles to re-enfranchisement; state-by-state guide to the restoration process; and a guide to national, state, and local re-enfranchisement work.
