A Six-Year Follow-Up of Men Going Through Probation-Based Sex Offender Treatment Programs

Sexual reconvictions of male child molesters who have been in the community over 6 years and who have undergone community treatment for sex offenses are analyzed. This report contains the following sections: key points; the current study; the sample; risk of reconviction level; static-99; reconviction in terms of pre-treatment level of sexual offending problems; 8 self-report scale measures; and reconvictions and treatment change. Offenders that did not respond to treatment were more likely to be reconvicted. In general, treatment works better with low deviancy offenders. Accession Number: 017055
