Predicting Recidivism Among Male Batterers

Static and dynamic recidivism risk factors for male batterers are examined. The first section of this report looks at predictor variables such as criminal lifestyle, pro-abuse attitudes, deterrence, motivation to change, marital distress, low verbal skills, and negative family background. The rest of this document is divided into sections on methods, results, discussion, and conclusions. In general, those risk factors closely related to recidivism of male batterers seem to be the same recidivism risk factors associated with general offenders. Accession Number: 016416
