Comparison of Survival Rates for Offenders Completing the Drug Offender Work Camp and General Releases with Identified Substance Abuse Problems

While the study was considered "very preliminary," results seem to suggest a positive impact. The program was comprised of a 12-month substance abuse treatment phase and a 12-month aftercare phase. Graduates of the aftercare program had a recidivism rate 18.72% less than the comparison group; graduates at 11.53%, control group at 30.25%. Accession Number: 015678
