Career development programs must adapt to continuing workplace change. Some of these changes have myths attached to them. This report sheds light on three such myths. Some feel that loyalty and job security have disappeared. This myth reflects the changing conditions of employment like employment contracts that include "payback" and "noncompete" clauses. The myth that contingent employment reflects the "end of the job" actually points to the increase of alternative work arrangements. The workplace of the future will continue to be youth focused myth is countered by the fact that older individuals will become a valuable resource due to the shortage of workers.
