Reducing Offending: An Assessment of Research Evidence on Ways of Dealing with Offending Behavior

Through a series of nine articles, the authors present an assessment of the comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of different methods of reducing crime. Topics are: promoting a less criminal society; situational crime prevention; changing the context of crime prevention; community crime prevention; effective policing strategies; sentencing policy; effective interventions; and a conclusion which summarizes the evidence presented in the previous sections.
