Probation for Adult and Juvenile Offenders: Options for Improved Accountability

As many as 60 percent of all adult probationers in California go unsupervised or are otherwise held accountable during their term of probation. This report suggests the use of a Neighborhood Accountability Boards (NAB) -oriented model, day reporting centers, early release programs, electronic monitoring, house arrest, and intensive supervision for high-risk probationers as alternative sanctions promoting higher accountability for probationers.
