Policy Review of Reincarceration in Florida's Prisons Administered by the Department of Corrections

This report examines Florida's recidivism rates and identifies trends and profiles for offenders released between July 1986 and February 1992 who are reincarcerated within three years of their release. It also identifies strategies implemented by the department to reduce recidivism and evaluates those efforts. Strategies to reduce recidivism include: sentencing revisions, increase prison beds, deportation of aliens, work release programs, prison industries, education programs, substance abuse treatment, and boot camp.
