Designed to determine the need for and interest in media relations training, a national survey queried directors of community corrections agencies, large jails, and state corrections departments concerning media relations staffing issues and the extent of national media attention on the agency. Suggestions for seminar topics include the following categories: general media management/awareness, community relations, media techniques, negative media situations, role of agency administration in good media/public relations, managing the release of information and coverage of correctional issues in the media.
