The Prison System

The Dept. of Corrections managed 23,743 inmates in 2007, operates 20 facilities and a network of 16 smaller correctional centers, and has 9,443 employees.

The Community Corrections System

The DOC's Div. of Community Corrections supervised 53,230 probationers and 16,986 parolees in 2007.
