The Jail System

Utah has 29 counties and 29 jail facilities with a rated capacity of 7,694. A jail inspection and voluntary standards compliance program is operated by the UT Sheriffs' Assoc.

The Prison System

In 2007. the Dept. of Corrections managed 6,509 inmates in 2 prisons and 4 community facilities. The DOC has 2,263 employees.

The Community Corrections System

The DOC's Div. of Adult Probation & Parole supervision supervised 10,829 probationers and 3,597 parolees using 8 regional offices.
